Osaka: The old-world beauty of downtown “HOZENJI YOKOCHO”

Hozenji Yokocho is located in the busiest spot of Osaka, Namba (near the famous neon billboard),  the history of the area dates back to Edo period (1603-1868).  Hozenji Yokocho is named after, the Jodo (Pure Land) sect., Hozen ji(temple). About 60 of small food shops, cafes and restaurants are lined on the both side of stone-paved 80 meters Yokocho (street). It’s originated from the street stalls who did business with visitors of the temple. hozenji yokocho
ukiyo koji Ukiyo koji is the most elongate path next to Hozenji Yokocho in Osaka, and it’s a museum which re-creates old days Dotonbori.

Those spots are quiet place in the busiest area.
