Kyoto: It attracts world “HEIAN JINGU SHRINE”
Heian Jingu Shrine was built for celebrating 1100th anniversary of transferring of the capital to Kyoto in 794.
It’s a five eighth reproduction of, Chodoin, the capital facility of Heian-kyo and designated as an important cultural property in 2010.

Jidai Matsuri is a festival that has been held by Heian Jingu Shrine on 22nd October every year ever since the shrine was built in 1895. During the festival, about 2000 of the participants are dressed in historical costumes from Heian period (794-1185) to Meiji period (1868-1912) and parade 2km from Imperial palace to Heian Jingu Shrine.
It takes two hours to watch the entire procession pass by. |
