Bizarre culture: Kawaii character “BENTO” (lunch box)

The idea of Character bento was spread through regular house wive’s blogs and recipes, it’s popular among the kids. Mother usually decorates food with cut seaweed or cheese and shapes rice and side dishes into manga, anime and animal characters.

It makes Japanese kids excited about trying different foods and helps them to eat foods well.

You can join the class, which is often held by wife or mother (not professional chef). In the most of classes, what you will do is that not cooking dishes but only decorating and shaping.
